Has anyone had good or bad results from NUCCA chiropractic?
I was in a car accident and NUCCA chiropractic was suggested. I have had one adjustment and one recheck so far. I have had myofascial pain syndom for about 20 years and have tried almost everything else.

I have been practicing chiropractor for over 30 years and have never heard of NCCA chiropractic. There are many chiropractic techniques and most would be good for your problems. Make sure the chiro does a full and proper exam including spinal x-rays.
I have heard of NUCCA chiropractic, and it’s a well known form of upper cervical specific chiropractic (they adjust only the first cervical vertabra). Since you were in a car accident it’s a reasonable technique to use, though I would adjust the rest of your spine too (I am a Diversified chiropractor) but definitely also C1.
I don’t understand the rational of having only two treatments???
An automogive accident usually requires at least 12 treatments to make a long-term difference. This seems way too little!
As far as myofascial pain a NUCCA chiropractor is also a good place to be, but they need to give you a reasonable treatment plan, such as 8-12 times.
Some massage treatments on the side would also be very helpful, which a NUCCA doctor also wont’ do unless they have someone in house.
(PS: After reading the below answer, maybe I’m mixing it up with something else. True “non force” chiropractic is a sham in my consideration, and really an “energy” technique adapted from Reiki-like theories, which really has nothing to do with real chiropractic – best luck. Toftness is another one of those – pure nonsense.)

NUCCA chiropractors don’t actually touch you, or they use such a light touch nothing happens, however, there might be something to the upper cervical approach. A recent study showed that upper cervical adjustments using the Atlas-Orthogonal method lowered high blood pressure. Also, you can watch this video where Montel Williams describes the benefits he receives from AO.

This is just case one must realize that it hasn’t been studied enough to be able to make a recommendation to try it other than it might work. What you have to ask yourself is “Did it help you?” I have always looked at NUCCA DC’s like they were freaks, but that doesn’t mean they don’t help some people. As far as the two visits, what I understand about NUCCA DC’s is that they charge an arm and a leg for the first visit, and X-ray the heck out of people. I would have to agree with the tacodc and say that for a car accident, you would need to be seen several more times and a rehab component should be added. That being said, I hope you got great results.
